3rd International Patellofemoral Pain - Research Retreat & Clinical Symposium

September 18 – 20, 2013 Vancouver, Canada

We invite researchers interested in learning about the latest in patellofemoral joint research to join us at the 3rd International Patellofemoral Research Retreat in Vancouver, British Columbia. The research retreat is a gathering of scientists who meet every two years to present new research findings and review the science regarding patellofemoral pain.

The retreat will take place over three days (September 18th – 20th, 2013) and include panel discussions and consensus building sessions. We are pleased to confirm two keynote speakers, Professor Paul Hodges (Brisbane, Australia) and Professor Irene Davis (Boston, USA).

In 2013, we are also pleased to announce the 1st International Patellofemoral Pain Clinical Symposium in Vancouver. This one-day symposium (September 21st, 2013) is aimed at health and medical practitioners who would like to hear from world experts in the field of patellofemoral pain.

37th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics

September 4-7, 2013 Omaha, Nebraska

The 2013 Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics will be held September 4 to 7 in Omaha, Nebraska. The organizers of ASB encourage the submission of abstracts on the full and broad spectrum of biomechanics-related research including but not limited to gait, posture and balance, rehabilitation engineering, ergonomics, orthopedic mechanics, cellular and molecular mechanics, comparative biomechanics, motor control, sports, and teaching. In addition, the theme of the 2013 conference will be "thinking outside of the biomechanics box." Thus, we are also interested in research that relates biomechanics with traditionally non-biomechanics factors. For example, researchers are encouraged to submit abstracts relating cognition and movement, brain imaging and movement, etc. Both computational and experimental work is encouraged at scales ranging from molecular to whole body biomechanics.

The program will include multiple concurrent sessions, lab tours, tutorials, symposia, keynote lectures, best paper competitions (Clinical Biomechanics, Journal of Biomechanics), and honorary awards (Borelli, Hay, Young Scientist Pre-Doctoral, Young Scientist Post-Doctoral).
