The 7th National Smokeless and Spit Tobacco Summit is the ONLY national conference dedicated to addressing the health and social issues attributed to smokeless and spit tobacco use.
Public health practitioners, researchers, medical and dental care providers, American Indian Tribal leaders, youth leadership professionals and more will gather to inform and motivate unified policies and programs aimed at reducing smokeless and spit tobacco use.
A National Steering Committee has assembled to plan the Summit, and has identified the following goals for the 3-day Summit:
Focus national attention on smokeless and spit tobacco addiction as a critical public health issue.
Bring a united voice to smokeless tobacco advocates in the fields of prevention, research, and treatment.
Empower attendees with viable public health solutions to take action in support of programs and policies that reduce smokeless and spit tobacco use in their communities.
Share current treatment guidelines and promising approaches for dental health providers to utilize in their oral health practice.
Update health practitioners and public health workers about addiction and cessation issues.
Controlling the use of dangerous smokeless and spit tobacco products requires a comprehensive effort, involving many different sectors of the community.

2nd Meeting of the International Association of Dental Research-Asia Pacific Region
21 to 23 August 2013 Bangkok, Thailand
Hosted by the Faculty of Dentistry of Chulalongkorn University, the 2nd Meeting of the International Association of Dental Research-Asia Pacific Region (IADR-APR) will be held at Plaza Athenee, Bangkok, Thailand from 21 to 23 August 2013.
The meeting is organized by the IADR-APR, a non-profit organization that provides a venue for the advancement of research to improve knowledge and oral health care management.
The 3-day programme will discuss interesting topics on dentistry. Keynote lectures, plenary streams, paper presentation sessions, field visit to the Dental laboratory Faculty of Dentistry of Chulalongkorn University, and a dental exhibition will be featured in the meeting. Participants will be able to enrich their knowledge on the latest development in dental research, be informed of the cutting-edge technology, meet face to face the global experts, and network with the private sector and dental suppliers.

2013 National School-Based Health Care Convention
The 2013 National School-Based Health Care Convention will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington DC June 23 – 26, 2013.
The 2013 Convention program is organized into eight workshop tracks, each to include a series of concurrent sessions. The theme Redefining Health for Kids and Teens will be disbursed throughout the convention plenary sessions and tracks.
