6th International IEEE EMBS Conference on Neural Engineering

5-8 November 2013 San Diego, California

Neural engineering is an emerging core discipline, which coalesces neuroscience with engineering. Please join us at:

The 6th International IEEE EMBS Conference on Neural Engineering, which will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina – CA from 5-8 November 2013, just before The Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting. Members of both the Neuroscience and Engineering Communities are encouraged to attend this highly multidisciplinary meeting. The conference will highlight the emerging engineering innovations in the restoration and enhancement of impaired sensory, motor, and cognitive functions, novel engineering for deepening knowledge of brain function, and advanced design and use of neurotechnologies.

Neural engineering draws expertise from computational neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgery, electrical engineering, materials engineering, and cell and molecular neuroscience. Through innovations in neurotechnology the community seeks to synergize scientists, engineers, and clinicians toward improved medical therapies.

8th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Pain

October 27-31 2013, Dubai

The overall theme for the 2013 Dubai congress will be: Advances in Multidisciplinary Research for Better Spinal/Pelvic CareLumbopelvic Pain is still the second most common cause of sick leave in the industrialized world. It is a problem for patients as they try to seek clear consistent advice. For practitioners it is a complicated multi-factorial issue, especially when psychosomatic factors are involved and the sheer variety of treatments betrays our lack of precise knowledge in predicting outcomes. The great variation in clinical practice without consistent results would suggest sometimes less than ideal care. Too often the choice of treatment reflects the specific skills of the practitioner rather than the needs of the patient.

The congress promotes empowerment of the patients to participate in their own care and promotes cost effective prevention of treatment. The program will be developed in partnership with appropriate patient, professional and scientific organisations, companies, health care providers, governments and non-governmental organisations in consultation with global and regional stakeholders.
