4th American Conference on Human Vibration
June 13th through June 15th, 2012 Hartford, Connecticut
The 4th American Conference on Human Vibration (ACHV) will be held in Hartford, Connecticut, from June 13th through June 15th, 2012. The 4th ACHV is being organized by the Biodynamics Laboratory and the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center and will have the conference theme of "Fostering Collaborative Academic, Clinical, and Industrial Research in Vibration Exposure and Control". This biennial conference will provide a unique and convenient opportunity for researchers, engineers, medical professionals, and industry representatives to exchange information on all aspects of vibration control and human responses to hand-transmitted vibration and whole-body vibration.
The American Conference on Human Vibration (ACHV) was originated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in 2006. NIOSH is the federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness and is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. NIOSH is actively involved in studies of both hand-arm vibration and whole-body vibration.
