10th International Rotavirus Symposium

The 10th International Rotavirus Symposium will be held 19-21 September, 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand. It will bring together interested stakeholders to provide an update on new data and relevant research that will inform public health agendas related to prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis.

Main Session Topics
Participants will discuss the latest results of trials of new rotavirus vaccines in developing country settings, issues in vaccine policy and introduction, and early post-marketing data on vaccine impact and safety. Scheduled sessions include:

* Update on rotavirus vaccines
* Early experiences with introduction of new rotavirus vaccines
* Epidemiology and burden of rotavirus disease
* The pipeline for rotavirus vaccines

Li Ka Shing Institute of Virology and Gairdner Foundation Symposium: Meeting the Challenge of Emerging, Acute and Persistent Viral Diseases

The symposium will focus on the viral pathogenesis, immune responses and potential of novel antivirals, and vaccines both prophylactic and therapeutic on these viruses.

6th Forum on Respiratory Tract Infections

November 28-30 2012 Barcelona, Spain

The 6th RTI Forum in the series is now proposed in response to important advances and novel issues in the matters of epidemiological, diagnostic and therapeutic events, including significant new agents, both anti-microbial and adjunctive, early recognition of bacterial disease (and rapid pathogen identification) and preventative vaccines. Most of these will be approaching the clinical interface within the next 2-3 years. They urgently merit both objective interdisciplinary evaluation and wider dissemination to leaders in their clinical application. The 6th RTI Forum offers a unique opportunity to discuss these issue with experts in respiratory Infection in an intimate and informal atmosphere and we hope to welcome you in Barcelona!
