17th Pan Arab Conference on Diabetes PACD17

26th to 29th March, 2013 Cairo, Egypt

The scientific sessions of the conference will be dominated by scientific data from worthy speakers. This will be beneficial for post graduate trainees, district specialists and family physicians. Keeping in view this background, the conference will focus on new aspects and current updates, introduced recently in the field of diabetes and its related disorders.

This conference is a timely reminder of the inter-related nature of today's non-communicable diseases and of the complexity of diabetes itself. The conference is also an indication of the ongoing commitment of the fight against diabetes in the Arab nations and our efforts in Egypt and Arab countries on behalf of people with diabetes, their families and those who provide their care. Based on the above the organizing committee is preparing to receive about 3000 participants as this conference is already the biggest one not only in the Arab region but also in the whole Middle East area.

We wish that all the family physicians and specialists of the region will participate in this conference to update their knowledge, especially on prevention of diabetes and its complications like coronary artery disease which is one of the major killers of the human life.

The EDC (Center for Diabetes Education) in collaboration with the other societies are organizing the 17th Pan Arab Conference on Diabetes (PACD17), experts from different countries will exchange their experiences in the field of Diabetes and its related disorders. Recent advances in Population Studies, clinical and basic research will be presented. International scientists will give state of the art lectures. A number of sessions will be devoted to presentations of original contributions. Many satellite Symposia will be held during the conference.

International Symposium on Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics ISOPT Clinical 2013

March 7-10, 2013 Paris, France

ISOPT will reconvene in Paris March 7 – 10 for our 10th symposium. Over the years, ISOPT has repeatedly shaped its form so it can accommodate to provide a collaborative atmosphere for clinicians, clinical trialists, pharma industry and regulatory officers. Our formed vision has been to increase knowledge and awareness of drug usage in ophthalmology reflecting innovations and their utilization in practice. In order to achieve this vision ISOPT is set to implement the following missions:

Educate via updating and sharing current and evolving treatment algorithms for practitioners.

Connect data arising from clinical studies to actual daily practice.

Facilitate innovation via panels and discussions of early and late “development related topics”.

We invite you to join us in Paris, and become a part of ISOPT, bring your own experience and insights of treating your patients, be exposed to the last two year clinical experience gained in major industry supported studies and be part of the efforts to reflect scientific data to clinical reality and patient care.

ISOPT has become famous for its informal atmosphere and the ability to meet experts and faculty leaders for “out of the lecture hall” discussions.

Whether your field of interest is in retinal diseases, inflammation, cornea and external diseases, glaucoma or basic science you may contribute and be part of the ISOPT spirit.

7th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications
Spain
11/11/2012

7th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications

11 - 14 November, 2012 Madrid, Spain

Diabetes is one of the fastest growing public health problems worldwide. It affects all populations and is increasing everywhere. It causes severe complications and shortens life expectancy significantly. Treatment of diabetes is usually life-long, and therefore expensive. However, there are good news: diabetes and its complications are preventable! By preventing diabetes all the suffering related to this disease and unnecessary costs associated with it can be avoided.

The World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and Its Complications is a global forum where experts on diabetes and prevention meet and all participants can enjoy high quality scientific discussions on principles of diabetes prevention and listen to the experiences from diabetes prevention programmes that have been implemented in various countries. The World Congress of Diabetes and Its Complications has taken place regularly since 1996 when the first historic Congress took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. It then traveled to Fiuggi (Rome), Italy, Hong Kong, Chennai, India, Helsinki, Finland and Dresden, Germany. During these years increasing evidence on the potential for prevention of type 2 diabetes has been obtained, included pharmacologic treatment, and the knowledge on the prevention of complications of diabetes has been strengthened.

It is now the time to take the next step with the 7th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and Its Complications to be held in Madrid, Spain in November 2012. As the earlier Congresses, the coming Congress will combine theory and practice, and will form a forum to disseminate new information, to learn from best practices and to have constructive debates around one of the most important public health issues, the prevention of diabetes and its complications. Although we can declare today that the work targeted to the prevention of diabetes and its complications has been a true success story, there is still a long way to go and many lessons to be learned. The history of public health is full of success stories – let’s make sure that the prevention of diabetes and its complications will be one of them!
