10th International Symposium on Selenium in Biology and Medicine 2013
September 14th to 18th, 2013 Berlin, Germany
3 years after the last Symposium, the splendid conference organized by Prof. Nobuyoshi Esaki and his team at Kyoto University, Japan, we are ready to prepare for the 10th International Symposium in Berlin, entrusted and supported by the International Scientific Organizing Committee. Submit your most attractive Selenium-related research for oral or poster presentation, encourage your fellow researchers to join you and us for this exciting event and provide your young investigators with adequate stimulation and support to experience the international Selenium research community gathering at this rewarding symposium. This conference continues a longstanding series of excellent international cutting edge symposia on basic, translational, clinical, nutritional and pharmaceutical research on the role and biochemical function of the essential trace element Selenium and its biologically active components. Most of these act in form of selenoproteins, selenium-containing biomolecules such as modified RNAs, pharmaceutical and nutritionally relevant compounds supporting both animal and human health.
Key topics of the meeting will be:
-- Biosynthesis and function of selenoproteins
-- Selenium and human health
-- Selenium in animal health
-- Selenium in prokaryotes
-- Selenium analytics
-- Selenium in plants
-- Selenium and reactive oxygen species
The meeting will be structured by plenary and parallel oral sessions. In addition, short oral presentations, poster sessions and a technical/analytical/industry exhibition will be organized.
