Key Advances in Stroke Rehabilitation

12th June 2013 London, United Kingdom

Stroke is the single greatest cause of disability in most Western countries. It is a complex condition and there is a continuing need for further education on evidence-based rehabilitation practice and research developments. Professionals need to be up-to-date with the constant advances in the understanding of the condition, assessment and intervention techniques. There is also a need to look at interventions beyond the acute stages and how to support active participation in the longer term post stroke.

This one-day exciting and accredited conference is aiming to provide the latest key advances in stroke rehabilitation incorporating state of the programmes and techniques that may be used by professionals who are involved in the management and rehabilitation of patients at different stages after stroke.

This conference focuses on providing participants with information on the current understanding of modern rehabilitation therapies in stroke and their effects on activity and participation. Special emphasis will be given to therapies which are person centered and can be used by an interdisciplinary team to deliver effective rehabilitation for the person and their families.

It will be demonstrated how evidence-based interventions can improve stroke functionality, reduce re-admission, and optimize healthcare utilization. Furthermore it will provide insights into the psychological management of stroke.

The expert panel includes clinicians, researchers and scientists in the field of neurology, occupational therapy, nursing, physiotherapy, psychology; and speech and language.

This conference will provide delegates across the world with the unique opportunity to update their knowledge and challenge their thinking on a wide range of topics in stroke rehabilitation.
