Call for Papers: American Journal of Clinical Medicine

The American Journal of Clinical Medicine (AJCM) is the official, peer-reviewed journal of the American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc. (AAPS), an organization dedicated to promoting the highest intellectual, moral, and ethical standards of its members. Its diversity incorporates physicians that represent a broad spectrum of specialties including anesthesiology, dermatology, diagnostic radiology, disaster medicine, emergency medicine, family medicine/OB, family practice, geriatric medicine, hospital medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, psychiatry, radiation oncology, general surgery, and urgent care medicine.

To further the goals of AAPS, which include providing education for its members and promoting the study, research, and improvement of its various specialties, the AJCM invites submissions of high-quality review articles, clinical reports, case reports, or original research on any topic which has potential to impact the daily practice of medicine.

Publication in the AJCM is one of the criteria to qualify for the prestigious Degree of Fellow within the Academies of Medicine of the AAPS.

Call for Papers for a Special Issue of Investigative Radiology: Interventional MRI

Investigative Radiology announces a special issue on 'Interventional MRI' scheduled for publication in early 2013. This issue will focus on new technical developments and clinical experience in diagnostic (e.g. biopsy) and therapeutic (e.g. tumor ablation) MR-guided procedures. All organ and disease areas will be considered. Accepted manuscripts will involve either basic or clinical research and will advance our understanding of interventional MR-based procedures as well as promote their clinical applications.

The deadline for submission is June 1, 2012. Papers submitted after this deadline will not be considered. All papers will be subject to peer review by experts in the field and must comply with the Journal's Instructions for Authors.

Call for Authors: EMPSF Forum, a Quarterly Electronic Newsletter Published by the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation

The Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation publishes a quarterly electronic newsletter called the EMPSF Forum. A hard copy of the Forum is printed in the fall and is distributed at the ACEP Scientific Assembly and other conferences including the EMPSF Annual Patient Safety Summit. EMPSF is looking for authors to write articles of interest to emergency department practitioners, nurses, emergency medical services, pharmacists and others in the area of patient safety in emergency care.

To be accepted articles must:

have proper permission if submitting as a reprint
be technically accurate
be based on evidenced based research
adhere to the American Medical Association style guidelines
summarize important events, guidelines, toolkits, or standards of care of interest to emergency department staff

Articles should be double spaced, excluding references, charts, and figures. There is no guarantee that all submissions will be published. EMPSF reserves the right to select articles that best fit with their mission and vision. All articles are subject to editing. Articles are copyrighted by EMPSF.
