ICAN: Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition is a bimonthly journal for health care professionals involved in the nutritional care of children from birth through adolescence. ICAN provides practical information derived from research and practice.

ICAN is a must-read for:

• Dietitians and nutritionists in children’s and general hospitals, outpatient facilities, schools, and consulting practices
• Nurses, including pediatric nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, children’s hospital staff, home practice nurses, pediatric acute and critical care nurses, and school nurses
• Physicians, including pediatricians; pediatric specialists in gastroenterology, endocrinology, pulmonology, nephrology, and cardiology; and general and primary care practitioners

Call for Papers on the Mini-Nutritional Assessment (MNA) for the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging

One of the issues of the JNHA in 2012 will be dedicated to publications on the MNA. Juergen M Bauer, MD, PhD, Oldenburg, Germany, will serve as guest editor of the MNA issue.

In this context the following research areas will be of special interest:

Epidemiology (i.e. prevalence of malnutrition, geographical and ethnic variations, focus on specific populations – community-living, institutional)

Methodology (i.e. the MNA as a monitoring tool, adaptations of the BMI/CC-cut offs due to ethnicity)

MNA and functionality (i.e. cognitive status, frailty, disability)

MNA based interventions

The Journal of Functional Foods in Health and Disease (FFHD) is a peer-reviewed open access journal that covers various aspects of functional foods and chronic diseases such as cardiovascular, obesity, diabetes, cancer and/or scientific policies related to functional foods. The journal is designed to keep members of the Functional Food Center / Functional Food Creation International Institute and the public up to date on the latest advances in functional foods for the prevention and management of chronic diseases. The journal will strive to develop concepts that help to understand the mechanisms of disease and creation of specific functional and medicinal foods in the prevention and management of various diseases

This is an existing serial which has been published under the title Functional Foods in Health and Disease (FFHD) since December 3, 2010.
