Call for Papers: ACCP International Clinical Pharmacist

Audience: Clinical pharmacists, educators, and officials who oversee clinical pharmacy practice and education beyond North America

Individuals are invited to submit articles for publication in future issues of the newsletter in the following departments:

Clinical Pharmacy Practice
Clinical Pharmacist or Clinical Practice Profile
Patient Care
Research and Practice
Pharmacy Education
Continuing Professional Development

Departments:
ACCP International Clinical Pharmacist publishes several types of articles on matters of importance in pharmacy practice and education. A brief description of each type follows:

-- “Clinical Pharmacy Practice” highlights important contemporary professional and regulatory matters pertaining to clinical pharmacy practice.
Please note that the editor invites most “Clinical Pharmacy Practice” articles. However, unsolicited articles will be considered for publication.

-- “Clinical Pharmacist” or “Clinical Practice Profile” spotlights clinical pharmacists or clinical pharmacy services, especially those that feature national or institution-wide initiatives, expanding clinical services, or best practices.

-- “Patient Care” addresses issues related to therapeutic advances, health technology, practice models, and self-care or patient education and empowerment.

-- “Research and Practice” discusses key issues related to pharmacy practice and educational research of relevance to clinical pharmacists and educators.

-- “Pharmacy Education” focuses on issues of relevance to faculty/staff and clinical educators who teach and mentor pharmacy students and residents.

-- “Continuing Professional Development” reviews current and future practices in continuing professional development, continuing education, and certification.

Call for Authors: EMPSF Forum, a Quarterly Electronic Newsletter Published by the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation

The Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation publishes a quarterly electronic newsletter called the EMPSF Forum. A hard copy of the Forum is printed in the fall and is distributed at the ACEP Scientific Assembly and other conferences including the EMPSF Annual Patient Safety Summit. EMPSF is looking for authors to write articles of interest to emergency department practitioners, nurses, emergency medical services, pharmacists and others in the area of patient safety in emergency care.

Disruptive behavior

Teamwork
Equipment issues and safe design
Human factor engineering

Summary of information in the area of patient safety, legal, or risk that would be of interest to emergency department staff including ED nurses and physicians.

To be accepted articles must:

have proper permission if submitting as a reprint
be technically accurate
be based on evidenced based research
adhere to the American Medical Association style guidelines
summarize important events, guidelines, toolkits, or standards of care of interest to emergency department staff

Articles should be double spaced, excluding references, charts, and figures. There is no guarantee that all submissions will be published. EMPSF reserves the right to select articles that best fit with their mission and vision. All articles are subject to editing. Articles are copyrighted by EMPSF.
