Call for Papers: Joint Meeting of the American Pancreatic Association and the International Association of Pancreatology

The 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Pancreatic Association (APA) to be held jointly with the International Association of Pancreatology (IAP) will take place at the Eden Roc Renaissance in Miami Beach FL from Oct 31-Nov 3. The meeting will include several mini-symposia in addition to abstract driven sessions including a symposia on Pancreatic Stem Cells and Stellate Cells (organized by Minoti Apte and Diane Simeone on Saturday Nov 3) and a consensus conference open to all participants to update the 2002 IAP Evidence-Based Guidelines on the Management of Acute Pancreatitis (on Wednesday October 31).

Abstracts must be received no later than June 25th to be considered for presentation at the meeting. Abstracts can be submitted electronically. The submission fee for each abstract is $60 and is required for each abstract, whether published or not. When you have submitted your abstract electronically, you will be able to pay the abstract fee with a credit card through PayPal. Alternatively, you may also mail a check, payable to American Pancreatic Association, for each abstract submitted.

Call for Abstracts: 16th Annual Meeting of the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer

Abstract submission opens May 15, 2012.

Deadline for abstract submissions is 11:59 pm ET on July 15, 2012.

The Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancers (CGA-ICC) invites the submission of abstracts regarding clinical, basic science, and/or psychosocial aspects of hereditary colorectal cancer. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive update on the status of research and to stimulate collaborations, recruitment of subjects, and ideas for the development of other studies. Authors may submit abstracts of completed work, work in progress, or work presented elsewhere within the past 12 months. All abstracts that are appropriately formatted and contain appropriate content will be accepted for poster or podium presentation. Therefore, meeting and hotel registration is encouraged at the time of abstract submission. To register, please go to www.ccfcme.org/cga12.

Abstract Submission Instructions: Abstracts will only be accepted electronically and should be submitted via email to abstract@cgaicc.com on or after May 15, 2012. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 11:59 pm ET on July 15, 2012. All abstracts with appropriate content and formatting will be accepted for poster or podium presentation. Please indicate in your email if you would like your abstract considered only for poster presentation. All submitting authors will receive confirmation of their abstract submission by email.

Abstracts will be selected for podium presentation based on scientific merit. Notification of acceptance for podium and poster presentations will be acknowledged by email in August, 2012. Abstracts will be published in the December 2012 issue of the journal Familial Cancer.

Abstract Formatting Instructions: Limit abstracts to one page, typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, single-spaced with one-inch margins, and left justified. Organize the abstract into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Define all abbreviations. Include the abstract title, full names and institutional affiliations of all authors, and email address of the corresponding author at the top of the abstract. Underline the name of the presenting author. Abstracts must not contain copyrighted material unless permission has been obtained by the author. Previously published abstracts will be excluded from publication in Familial Cancer.

The 22nd World Congress of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO 2012), will be held from 5 to 8 December 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand.
