21-24 March 2014 Madrid, Spain

The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), with the support of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR), will host the inaugural CHEST World Congress that will take place on 21-24 March 2014, in Madrid, Spain.

This premiere clinical event will feature simulation-based education, case- and problem-based sessions, and evidence-based medicine for clinical respirologists, intensive care physicians, and specialists in sleep medicine.

CHEST World Congress 2014 will offer innovative and diverse educational opportunities similar to the annual CHEST meeting, featuring expert faculty from around the world and integrating original research and guideline recommendations from the CHEST journal.

Join the debate on the latest advances in pulmonary clinical practice and patient care by submitting your abstract for CHEST World Congress 2014.

Submissions are welcome until 12 August, 2013.

You may submit your abstract under one of the following categories:

1. Abstract--Slide or poster presentation, open to all health professionals

2. Medical Student/Resident Case Report--Slide or poster presentation, open only to medical students/residents currently enrolled in a training program

3. Clinical Case Puzzler--Oral presentation, open to all health professionals

4. Case Report--Poster presentation, open to all health professionals

5. Late-Breaking Abstract--will open 11 November, 2013

Call for Abstracts: 43rd Critical Care Congress

January 9-13, 2014 San Francisco, California

The Society of Critical Care Medicine’s 43rd Critical Care Congress will be a powerhouse of creative and inspirational ideas for the critical care field.

We invite you to join nearly 5,000 critical care clinicians in San Francisco, where innovation will meet at the intersection of technology and medicine. Novel discoveries will be showcased, culminating a year’s worth of achievements in research and education.

The 2014 Congress will provide outstanding networking opportunities and innovative learning experiences, highlighting the most up-to-date, evidence-based developments in critical care medicine.

Make your contribution to the advancement of critical care by submitting your original investigative research and case reports for the 43rd Critical Care Congress. If accepted, your work will be on display throughout Congress, which will be held January 9 to 13, 2014. Abstracts also will be published in Critical Care Medicine, the #1 critical care subspecialty journal. Individuals whose abstracts are accepted are also eligible for peer evaluation and awards. Presenting authors who are SCCM members at the time of abstract submission may have an opportunity to apply for complimentary Congress registration.

Abstract Submission

To submit an abstract for the 43rd Critical Care Congress, log in to MySCCM.org with your SCCM customer ID and password, or sign up for an account. Once logged in, click the “Submit Abstracts” button to the left.

Abstracts will be accepted from May 1, 2013, to 12:00 p.m. Central Time on September 3, 2013. No extensions or late-breaking abstracts will be permitted. Please note that the SCCM office will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on September 2, 2013; no technical assistance will be available on that date. It is recommended that you complete the submission process prior to September 3, 2013.

Submission Requirements

Abstracts and/or information previously presented or published within the United States or internationally are not allowed.

Abstracts may contain new research on a topic presented previously.

Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present the abstract as accepted.

Expenses associated with the preparation, submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter(s)/author(s).

Authors of accepted abstracts are expected to register for the meeting and pay the meeting registration fee, unless they qualify and apply for complimentary registration.

The 13th International Child Neurology Congress will be held in the city of Foz do Iguaçu (Iguazú River Mouth), Brazil, from  4 to 9 May 2014. This is the second time that an ICNC is held in Latin America the first one being in Buenos Aires, Argentina,  in 1992. The congress will be held jointly with the 9th Brazilian Congress of Child Neurology

The abstracts accepted for poster presentation will be presented as E-posters (Electronic poster presentation)

What is an E-poster?

• The E-poster is a poster presented as a PDF presentation.

• The E-poster presentations will be presented on a computer screen during the congress and not on a regular poster board.

• Few computer stands will be distributed among the congress exhibition area.

• The E-poster system allows every delegate to see all e-poster presentations.

• The E-poster system allows you to search presentations by: Authors name, Abstract Title and Topic.

• The E-poster system allows you to save a presentation on site either on disk-on key or send it by e-mail.

• The uploaded E-poster should contain the same title, order of authors and affiliation details as the submitted abstract
