Computational methods and infrastructure for integrative analysis of cancer high-throughput “omics” data to enable precision oncology

Full paper submission deadline:  July 31, 2013

Session Aims

We aim to explore the computational needs to enable precision oncology through cancer panomics, and to encourage computational biologists in academia and industry to come together to tackle the hard problems to implement such a vision. We seek original contributions that discuss new methods or algorithms/infrastructure able to integrate two or more “omics” and/or clinical data types aimed to enable precision medicine in individual cancer patients (as opposed to pattern finding algorithms for cross-sectional studies). Submission could also formally pose a novel problem in cancer integrative analysis that the community will need to address, but more often will describe algorithms, models, and original solutions to a specific data integration analysis problem in cancer.

Possible submission topics:

Integrative analysis of high-throughput "omics" data from related samples or data types

Pathway disruption analysis by combining data from different "omics" sources in single patients

Joint analysis of "omics" data, literature, clinical trial data, and medical records

Data structures & systems to enable big-data integrative analysis in patients

Call for Papers: Global Health 2013, The Second International Conference on Global Health Challenges

November 17 - 22, 2013 - Lisbon, Portugal

Submission deadline (full paper): June 26, 2013

Recent advances in technology and computational science influenced a large spectrum of branches in approaching population health. Despite significant progresses, many challenges exist, including health informatics, cross-country platforms interoperability, system and laws harmonization, protection of health data, practical solutions, accessibility to health services, and many others. Along with technological progress, personalized medicine, ambient assistance and pervasive health complement patient needs. A combination of classical and information-driven approach is developing now, where diagnosis systems, data protection mechanisms, remote assistance and hospital-processes are converging.

GLOBAL HEALTH 2013 takes a global perspective on population health, from national to cross-country approaches, multiplatform technologies, from drug design to medicine accessibility, everything under mobile, ubiquitous, and personalized characteristics of new age population.

We solicit both academic, research, and industrial contributions. We welcome technical papers presenting research and practical results, position papers addressing the pros and cons of specific proposals, such as those being discussed in the standard fora or in industry consortia, survey papers addressing the key problems and solutions on any of the above topics short papers on work in progress, and panel proposals.

Industrial presentations are not subject to the format and content constraints of regular submissions. We expect short and long presentations that express industrial position and status.

Tutorials on specific related topics and panels on challenging areas are encouraged.

The topics suggested by the conference can be discussed in term of concepts, state of the art, research, standards, implementations, running experiments, applications, and industrial case studies. Authors are invited to submit complete unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal in the following, but not limited to, topic areas.

All topics and submission formats are open to both research and industry contributions.

Call for Abstracts: 6th Clinical Trials Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease

November 14-16, 2013 San Diego, California

This online abstract submission is only open until June 3rd, 2013. No late abstracts will be accepted

Our call for abstracts is now open for the 6th edition of Clinical Trials on Alzheimer’s Disease (CtaD) to be held in San Diego, November 14-16, 2013.

After the success of CtaD 2012 with more than 650 participants from all around the world and exciting presentations we are looking forward to making CtaD 2013 scientifically and clinically challenging!

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most important health challenges facing aging populations worldwide. The development of the next generation of Alzheimer’s disease drugs is becoming essential to face up to this challenge. We learned in Monte Carlo of new pathways identified with biomarkers, facilitating novel trial designs for studies of tau-based therapies and other disease-modifying drugs including immunotherapy.

This year CTAD 2013 has designed its call for abstract and program with one unique submission deadline for symposium, oral communication or poster presentation: June 3rd, 2013.

Call for Late Breaking Clinical Trials and First Report Investigations: TCT 25

October 27-November 1, 2013 San Francisco, California

Submission Deadline: August 20, 2013

Late breaking clinical trials are typically first-time international or US presentations of the primary endpoint or important secondary endpoint results of prospective, randomized clinical trials or presentations of large-scale, impactful single-center or multicenter registries, first-in-man experiences with novel devices or drugs, and important follow-up data from major randomized trials.

A late breaking clinical trial is defined as a major randomized trial or large-scale observational study. A first report investigation is a smaller randomized trial, novel science, or early human investigation.

Accepted late breaking clinical trial and first report investigation submissions will be presented in the Main Arena at TCT 2013, and accepted late breaking clinical trials will also be presented at press conferences scheduled on the same days as the presentations.
